Richard Glenn "Dick" Taylor, 67, a long-time resident of the Hillsboro community, died Sunday, Feb. 15, at Oregon Health & Science University Hospital in Portland.

A celebration of Dick's life will be at 2 p.m. today at Fuiten, Rose and Hoyt Funeral Home, 2308 Pacific Ave., Forest Grove, with the Rev. Sally Wiens officiating. Private family interment will take place at a later date.

Richard "Dick" Taylor, was born on Aug. 20, 1941, in Corvallis, the son of Kenneth W. and Vena Holst Taylor. Dick grew up in Corvallis and graduated from Corvallis High School in 1959. He attended Oregon Technical Institute, where he graduated in 1964.

He was united in marriage to Connie Nelson on Sept. 23, 1967, in Corvallis, and they made their home in Hillsboro. Last September they celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary.

Dick worked for Tektronix for 28 years, from 1965 until he retired as a manager of Modified Products in 1993. He then went to work for Ortech Industry, where he worked until he retired in October of 2006.

Dick was a member of the Hillsboro Kiwanis Club, where he served as past president. He was a past member of the Hillsboro Rotary Club and a member of the Hillsboro Elks Lodge, B.P.O.E. 1862, and a member of the Hillsboro Methodist Church.

Dick enjoyed electronics, computers, traveling, photography and spending time with his granddaughter.

Survivors include his wife, Connie Taylor, of Hillsboro; three daughters, Sandra Taylor of Cornelius, Sharon Taylor of Bakersfield, Calif., and Karen Salvey of Sherwood. He is also survived by his mother, Vena Taylor of Corvallis, and by his granddaughter, Lauren Salvey of Sherwood.

The family suggests remembrances to the American Cancer Society or the Cat Adoption Agency of Sherwood in his memory.
