Henrica Hermina Bors (Hovens) was born on June 10, 1923 to Peter Hovens and Amelia Beerkens Hovens in Grubbenvorst, The Netherlands, the second eldest of 12 children.
Henrica died December 19, 2017 in Corvallis having lived each day of her 94 years with love and grace.
She lived in the border city of Tegelen during the German invasion and from age 16 through 21, she suffered first-hand through World War II.
She married fellow Dutchman and war survivor, Joseph J. Bors in 1947.
In 1961, they immigrated with six children to the United States.
Henrica's passions were children, gardening, cross stitching and writing.
She was the dearly-loved matriarch of a family comprised of her seven children, Mary Kirchhofer (Vic), Bert Bors (Susan), George Bors (MaryAnn), Harriet Lovin (Steve), Catharina (Eneke) Warnke (John), Anne Hovens and American-born Greg Bors; seven grandchildren, Doug Kirchhofer (Melissa), Angie Acosta (Steve), Justin Bors (Morgan), Brandon Lovin (Marina), Lesa Banks (Rick), Carolyn Rothwell (Dan) and Kyle Wegner; twelve great-grandchildren Alana Acosta, Nicholas Acosta, Megan Kirchhofer, Summer Kendall, Noah Kendall, Lily Bors, Everly Rothwell, Easton Bors, Nolan Bors, Darina Lovin, Luke Rothwell, William Banks and John Banks; and by four remaining siblings, Truus Van De Broek (Jan), Hermine Otto, Regine Hovens and Nelly Klasen. She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews and her husband’s remaining siblings.
She was preceded in death by husband, Joseph, who died in 1987.

A celebration of life will be held on January 27, 2018 in Portland.
