December 19, 1933 — October 16, 2017

Maxine Gwen Dare, age 84 passed away peacefully on Monday, October 16, 2017, at the Mennonite Home in Albany.

She was born December 19, 1933 in Lyndal, Utah to Alonzo Lloyd Farnsworth and Francis Elder Farnsworth.

Maxine married Frederick E. Dare on April 7, 1956 in Venice, California.

She was a stay at home mom for many years, raising her four children before going back to school at Linn Benton Community College. She very proudly received her GED and Associates degree in accounting, then worked at College Cleaners, where she was loved by a generation of ROTC students. She retired in 1995.

Maxine’s special interests and hobbies were reading, crocheting, and traveling in their RV. Maxine loved and cared deeply for her family and friends and is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Frederick; her four children, James Dare, Pauline (Steve) Stapleton, Michael (Lisa) Dare, Debbie (Dan) Sergent; and grandchildren, Cecilia, Timothy, Brittany, Derek, Amber, Laura and Danielle.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Donna Paradiso.

A memorial Mass will be held at 1 p.m. on January 27 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Corvallis.
