Ronald W Drahn, 90, passed away December 1, 2017.

Ronald was born on February 1, 1927 in Monona, Iowa to Elwin and Ethel Drahn. Ronald grew up in Monona, graduating from Monona High School.

After graduation, he joined the US Army and served in World War II. After being honorably discharged, he moved to Corvallis where he met and married Erma Fishler.

Ronald worked for Consumers Power for 42 years.

He enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing.

His greatest pride was working on his farm, Drahnacres, where he grew many fruits and vegetables and raised hogs. Ron and Erma sold produce at the Corvallis and Albany Farmers Markets for several years.

He enjoyed watching his grandchildren show their animals at the Benton County Fair and Oregon State Fair.

Ron was a member of PGVG and competed in the giant pumpkin weigh off for the last several years.

Survivors include daughter, Susie and her fiance Cedric; son Scott and his wife Tammy; and grandchildren Tyler, Kristin, and Kayli.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elwin and Ethel; wife Erma; and brothers Gene and Dick.

A service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 10, 2017, at Demoss-Durdan Funeral Home in Corvallis.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Ronald’s name to Lumina Hospice or to the Benton County 4H.
