Wendle W.Thomas, 95 of Corvallis passed away August 12, 2017.
He was born in Burkburdett, Texas to Chester and Alice Thomas, one of seven children. Wendle went to school in Oklahoma and graduated from Tipton high school.
In 1942, he moved to California and joined the army. Wendle served in the medical corps overseas.
In 1943, he met the love of his life, Joyce, and had two children, Karen and Bill.
Wendle was a carpenter and loved what he did. He always helped others with his carpenter skills.
He was an avid reader of western history and folklore. Wendle enjoyed telling stories and sharing historic or humorous factoids he read about.
He was loved by all who knew him.
Wendle is survived by his wife Joyce; sister Mary; daughter Karen and son-in-law Rob; two grandchildren, Micah and Carissa; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; six siblings; son Bill; and two of his grandchildren, Paula and Greg.
Wendle wanted everyone to know that he had a wonder life.
Services are to be held at a later date.
