Emily Joy Hagen and John William Stimac are engaged to be married July 18, 2009, at the Thyme Garden in Alsea.

Emily is the daughter of Rolfe and Janet Hagen of Alsea. She is a 1996 graduate of Alsea High School and has a Bachelor of Arts in photography from Oregon State University. Emily is employed as a member of the First Alternative Natural Food Co-op Marketing Team.

John is the son of Mike and Jann Stimac of Poulsbo, Wash. He is a 2002 graduate of North Kitsap High School. He received certification from Lane Community College as a Renewable Energy Technician and is employed at Abundant Solar as an apprentice.

John and Emily met while working at American Dream Pizza in 2005.
