Stehr - Hsu
Sophia Libby Stehr and Michael Hsu, both of Somerville, Mass., were married Aug. 14, 2009, at the Portland Classical Chinese Garden. The officiant was Jacqueline Mandell.
The bride is the daughter of Christian P. and Tamara D. Stehr of Corvallis. She is a 2005 graduate of Crescent Valley High School in Corvallis. She received a bachelor's of science in civil engineering in May from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y. She is a student in the master's in engineering program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston, Mass.
The groom is the son of Noel and Janice Hsu of Aurora, Colo. He is a 2005 graduate of Eaglecrest High School in Aurora. He earned a bachelor of science in economics from Rensselaer Polytechnic last May. He works for Aflac Incorporated.
The maid of honor was Elaine Hsu of Aurora, sister of the groom. The flower girls were Gemma Stehr, 6, and Amelia Stehr, 4, of Newcastle, Wash., nieces of the bride. The best man was Zach Montoya of Washington, D.C.
Guests included close friends and family from throughout the Northwest, as well as California; Colorado; Washington, D.C.; and Toronto. Four of the bride's cousins performed a surprise a cappella tribute during the German-Asian dinner that followed the personalized vows. Afterwards the newlyweds were feted with sparklers, and then whisked away in a pedicab.
