Police are investigating after a homeless man said he was stabbed Friday on a bike path in north Corvallis, officials said Monday.
The 44-year-old victim suffered a non-life threatening cut, Lt. Dan Duncan said. The victim received stiches at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.
Police responded about 9:18 p.m. to the bike path at Northwest Cornell Avenue and Highway 99W, Duncan said. The victim told police he was walking on the path when he encountered a man he did not know. The men argued, though Duncan did not say what caused the argument. The suspect produced a knife and slashed at the victim, Duncan said.
Police are investigating the assault. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Detective Pete Dunn at 541-766-6433.
