MONDAY, DECEMBER 11
FAILURE TO REPORT AS SEX OFFENDER: 3:12 p.m., 180 NW Fifth Street, Corvallis. Police cited Johnthan Smith, 26, of Corvallis, for allegedly failing to report as a sex offender. Smith reportedly did not inform law enforcement that he had enrolled at Linn-Benton Community College.
THEFT BY EXTORTION: 8:12 p.m., 700 block of Northwest 11th Street, Corvallis. A man reported he had met a woman on the dating app Tinder. The two met in person and engaged in sexual activity. The woman later sent the man messages stating she had recorded their “meeting” and would tell people about the sexual conduct. She also demanded he sell all his assets and pay her a large sum of money. She was identified only as "Veronica."
CARELESS DRIVING: 11:52 p.m., Northwest Fifth Street and Northwest Monroe Avenue, Corvallis. Officers reportedly saw a car speeding. The car also allegedly passed a car on the left, going into the opposite lane of travel over a double yellow line. Police stopped the car and cited the driver, Omid Sadeghihosseinabadi, for careless driving, speeding and crossing the center line. Sadeghihosseinabadi reportedly told officers he did accelerate at a fast pace but that it was to play a joke on his friends. Sadeghihosseinabadi was later found not guilty of careless driving and speeding. He was fined $250 for passing in a no passing lane.

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 8
BURGLARY: 7:19 p.m., 1600 block of Southwest Brooklane Drive, Corvallis. Troopers arrested Travis Leroy Hultberg, 42, for second-degree burglary after he allegedly broke into the recycling center. Hultberg allegedly fled from law enforcement and was found hiding in a tree nearby. He reportedly told troopers he entered the building looking for cans. Hultberg was also reportedly arrested for a warrant out of Marion County for second-degree robbery.
MONDAY, DECEMBER 11
DUII: 12:38 a.m., Northwest Fifth Street and Northwest Harrison Boulevard, Corvallis. A trooper reportedly saw a car traveling the wrong way down a one-way street. The trooper stopped the car and arrested the driver, Thi Bich Truong, 28, of Philomath, for driving under the influence of intoxicants. Truong reportedly had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.03 percent. She was evaluated by a drug recognition expert.
