TUESDAY, DECEMBER 19
HEROIN: 3:08 p.m., 600 block of Northwest Monroe Avenue, Corvallis. Police arrested Alexis Rose Carrillo, 20, for possession of heroin, as well as for multiple warrants, and took her to the Benton County Jail.
SCAM: 9:41 p.m., 500 block of Northwest Seventh Street, Corvallis. A woman told police she received a call from 443-579-5816 and a man identifying himself as “Richard Gomez with the Federal Marshals” told her that her social security number was being cancelled due to pending criminal charges. The woman stated Gomez instructed her to take all the money out of her bank account and buy Walmart gift cards. The woman bought $2,675 worth of Walmart gift cards and provided Gomez with the pin number on the back of each card. Gomez told the woman the charges would be dropped and her social security number would be reactivated. Police have no suspects.
WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 20
CONCEALED WEAPON: 2:48 a.m., 1400 block of Northwest Monroe Avenue, Corvallis. Police responded for a report of a woman wearing a dark sweatshirt with a gun attempting to rob people. Police contacted a 17-year-old female matching the description of the suspect. She reportedly admitted to having a BB gun for protection because she was living on the streets, but said she did not attempt to rob anyone. Police confiscated a black Powerline BB gun from the female and cited her for having a concealed weapon. She was released to the custody of her grandmother.
