Corvallis Police Department

THURSDAY, NOV. 9

THEFT: 10:30 a.m., 700 block of Northwest Fifth Street, Corvallis. A man reported he had sold his 2003 Mercedes-Benz to another man, identified as Joshua L. Biegel, 39, for $5,000. However, the funds were not accessible. An officer contacted Biegel, who was allegedly in possession of the Mercedes, and arrested him for theft by deception, forgery, unauthorized use of a vehicle and possession of methamphetamine.

FRIDAY, NOV. 10

DUII: 3:06 a.m., Southwest 11th Street and Southwest Jefferson Avenue, Corvallis. An officer stopped a car that had been in the right turn lane to turn west onto Northwest Monroe Avenue but continued straight on Southwest Ninth Street without signaling. The officer arrested the driver, Derrick Leroy Ogawa-Staples, 22, who reportedly admitted to consuming marijuana and alcohol. Ogawa-Staples reportedly had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.13 percent. He is charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants.

DUII: 8:34 a.m., Northeast Highway 99W and Northeast Conifer Boulevard, Corvallis. An officer stopped a car for allegedly failing to maintain its lane. The officer arrested the driver, Christopher Adam Strahan, 21, of Corvallis, for driving under the influence of intoxicants. Strahan did not have alcohol in his system. A drug recognition expert performed an evaluation of Strahan.

COUNTERFEIT MONEY: 10:27 p.m., 2600 block of Northwest Ninth Street, Corvallis. An employee at the Shell station turned over a counterfeit $1 bill to police. The bill had been tendered at the gas station that day but the employee did not know who tendered it or at what time.

TAMPERING WITH PROPERTY: 11:31 p.m., 1500 block of Northwest Monroe Avenue, Corvallis. An officer was in the area for a separate incident when he allegedly saw Zachary Natsechin Howard Pierce, 46, seated on the front bumper of his patrol car. Pierce was reportedly bouncing up and down repeatedly and told the officer he was “testing the suspension.” Another officer issued Pierce a citation for tampering with property.

SATURDAY, NOV. 11

DUII: 12:08 a.m., Southwest Adams Avenue and Southwest 11th Street, Corvallis. An officer stopped a car for failing to obey a stop sign. The driver, Tamera Leeann George, 26, reportedly admitted to consuming alcohol. The officer arrested George for driving under the influence of intoxicants. George reportedly had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.1 percent.

DUII: 1:20 a.m., Northwest Ninth Street and Northwest Harrison Boulevard, Corvallis. An officer stopped a car that did not have its lights on. The officer arrested the driver, Alexis Noell Garcia, 19, of Beaverton, for driving under the influence of intoxicants. Garcia reportedly admitted to eating a marijuana edible. A drug recognition expert reportedly determined Garcia was under the influence of cannabis.

CRASH WITH INJURY: 8:43 p.m., 4000 block of Northwest Harrison Boulevard, Corvallis. Police responded to a roll-over crash. A man, identified as Derek Aeker, reportedly told police he had been driving westbound on Northwest Harrison Boulevard when a Jeep began to pass him. Aeker reportedly said he sped up to stop the Jeep from passing and the Jeep pulled in front of him, hitting the front driver side of his car. Aeker reportedly told police he turned right to avoid a collision, hit a telephone pole, which spun the car around into the oncoming lane, and his car hit the ditch and flipped onto its top. A passenger in Aeker’s car was reportedly injured and taken to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center. The Jeep was not located by police. Police cited Aeker for failure to maintain lane.

SUNDAY, NOV. 12

DUII: 2:28 a.m., Northwest Van Buren Avenue and Northwest Eighth Street, Corvallis. An officer stopped a car for reportedly failing to obey a traffic control device. The officer arrested the driver, Devin R. Sene, 22, for driving under the influence of intoxicants. Sene reportedly had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.12 percent.

BURGLARY: 3:30 a.m., 2600 block of Western Boulevard, Corvallis. Officers responded for a burglary in progress. They reportedly determined Connor Patrick Griffin, 20, of Corvallis, and Scott E. Bartlett, 19, entered into the residence and stole a safe. The safe reportedly contained $2,415. The officers arrested Griffin and Bartlett for first-degree burglary, first-degree theft and second-degree criminal mischief. The safe was recovered and returned to its owner.

MONDAY, NOV. 13

THEFT: 1900 block of Northeast Four Acre Place, Corvallis. Officers responded to Applebee’s for a report of a theft. The restaurant discovered that its power washer, worth approximately $400, was missing. Surveillance footage showed a man entered the restaurant’s shed on Oct. 30 and took the power washer as well as a toolbox, worth about $300. The suspect has not been identified.

ASSAULT: 12:01 a.m., 3000 block of Northeast Lancaster Street, Corvallis. Police responded for a domestic assault. The alleged victim reportedly said her husband, Houssem Trabelsi, 26, of Corvallis, punched her in the head and threatened her with a kitchen knife. Police located Trabelsi at his place of employment and arrested him for fourth-degree assault, menacing and unlawful use of a weapon.

DUII: 10:26 p.m., Southwest Second Street and Western Boulevard, Corvallis. An officer stopped a car that had been the subject of a driving complaint. The officer arrested the driver, Percola Wilson, for driving under the influence of intoxicants. Wilson reportedly had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.04 percent. Wilson reportedly admitted to consuming alcohol along with her Ambien earlier in the night.

Benton County Sheriff’s Office

THURSDAY, NOV. 9

ASSAULT: 2:59 p.m., 190 Northwest Fourth Street, Corvallis. A deputy responded to the Benton County Jail for an assault. The deputy reviewed video footage that reportedly showed Linus Ezra Morgan, 32, punching William Robert Johnson, 25, in the face several times. The deputy cited Morgan for fourth-degree assault.

SUNDAY, NOV. 12

DUII: 3:24 a.m., Southwest Ninth Street and Southwest Adams Avenue, Corvallis. A deputy arrested a driver, identified as Tanner James Davis, 18, of Corbett, for driving under the influence of intoxicants. Davis reportedly had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.12 percent.

MONDAY, NOV. 13

FIRE: 10:21 a.m., Highway 20 and Marys River Estates Road, Philomath. A deputy responded for a vehicle fire. Two bales of compressed cardboard on a semi had caught fire from unknown means. The Philomath Fire Department extinguished the flames.

THURSDAY, NOV. 9

DUII: 9:04 p.m., Northwest Second Street and Northwest Jackson Avenue, Corvallis. A trooper stopped a car for a traffic violation. The trooper arrested the driver, Adam Scott James, 37, of Springfield, for driving under the influence of intoxicants. James reportedly had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.13 percent.

SATURDAY, NOV. 11

DUII: 10:41 a.m., Southwest Grove Street and Western Boulevard, Corvallis. A trooper stopped a car for a traffic violation. The trooper arrested the driver, Ferdinand Michael Giresi, 41, of Corvallis, for driving under the influence of intoxicants. Giresi reportedly had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.2 percent.

MONDAY, NOV. 13

DUII: 12:24 a.m., Northwest Monroe Avenue and Southwest 14th Street, Corvallis. A trooper stopped a bicyclist. The trooper arrested the bicyclist, Mandy Mae Switzler, 40, of Corvallis, for driving under the influence of intoxicants. Switzler reportedly had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.1 percent.
