Corvallis Police Department

WEDNESDAY, NOV. 8

DRUGS: 9:10 a.m., 2500 block of Northeast Belvue Street, Corvallis. A man reported he found a small bag that appeared to contain drugs. Inside, police found three ounces of a white crystalline substance, a small scale and numerous unused plastic bags. An officer attempted to lift fingerprints from the items but was unsuccessful. The drugs will be destroyed.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: 3:25 p.m., 400 block of Southwest Third Street, Corvallis. Police responded to Safeway for a report of a man cutting the fence near the loading dock with a hacksaw. An officer contacted a man, identified as Joshua John Leroy Reith, 37, who matched the description of the suspect. Reith also allegedly had a hacksaw and bolt cutters in his possession. Reith reportedly told officers he wanted to fix the fence because he believed it was a hazard. Police arrested Reith for first-degree criminal mischief.

THURSDAY, NOV. 9

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: 2:05 a.m., 1400 block of Northwest 20th Street, Corvallis. Police responded for a report of a car prowl in progress. A man told police three suspects had attempted to get into his truck camper while he was inside and slashed a front tire on his pickup.

SATURDAY, NOV. 4

DUII: 2:46 a.m., Main Street and 10th Street, Philomath. Forrest Reeves Thomas, 22, of Albany, was reportedly driving west on Main Street when he swerved to avoid some construction cones, drove onto the sidewalk and struck a fire hydrant. Deputies arrested Thomas for driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving and second-degree criminal mischief. Thomas reportedly had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.15 percent.

TUESDAY, NOV. 7

DUII: 11:12 p.m., North 20th Street and Main Street, Philomath. A deputy stopped a car for reportedly failing to maintain its lane. The deputy arrested the driver, Mark Carlisle Winnie, 49, of Keizer, for driving under the influence of intoxicants. Winnie reportedly had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.18 percent.
