This log includes incidents in which there might have been a public disturbance or a risk to the public. Information comes from the Corvallis Police Department and the Benton County Sheriff’s Office. It does not include all calls for service. The status of incidents might change after further investigation. Locations are approximate. People arrested or suspected in crimes are considered innocent until proven otherwise.

Corvallis Police Department

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 20

THEFT: 12:48 p.m., 5200 block of Southwest Commons Way, Corvallis. A woman reported she received an email from AT&T confirming an order for a cellphone that she had not ordered. The phone was being sent to the University Inn Motel. The woman cancelled the order, and no money was withdrawn from her bank account. No suspects were identified.

ASSAULT: 4:48 p.m., 1400 block of Northwest Monroe Avenue, Corvallis. Police arrested Bruce Robert Van Houte, 55, for fourth-degree assault for allegedly punching a woman in the face in front of Circle K.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 21

DUII: 12:37 a.m., Northwest Van Buren Avenue and Northwest 16th Street, Corvallis. Police responded to a report of a domestic in progress and saw a woman standing in the street outside of a car. The car proceeded to reportedly hit the woman with the front right side bumper and then drive off. An officer stopped the car and arrested the driver, Joshua Jordan Reed, 20, of Corvallis, for driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving and reckless endangering. Reed reportedly had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.12 percent.

CAR VERSUS BIKE CRASH: 10:39 p.m., Southwest Fourth Street and Southwest Philomath Boulevard, Corvallis. A bicyclist reportedly attempted to change lanes from the middle of the on-ramp to the Southwest Fourth Street bicycle lane and was struck by a car. Police cited the cyclist, Mark Roggenstein, for unlawful lane change.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 22

DUII: 1:28 a.m., Northwest 14th Street and Northwest Monroe Avenue, Corvallis. An officer stopped a car for allegedly making an improper right turn. The officer arrested the driver, Makenzy Cate Bellwood, 21, of Corvallis, for driving under the influence of intoxicants. Bellwood reportedly had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.13 percent.

THEFT: 9:01 a.m., 700 block of Northwest Kings Boulevard, Corvallis. The loss prevention manager at Fred Meyer reported someone had cut a hole in the Garden Center fence and stolen a Razor Scooter, shoes and other items. The suspect has not been identified.

CAR BURGLARY: 3:18 p.m., Northwest 12th Street and Northwest Tyler Avenue, Corvallis. A man reported he had returned from a hunting trip the night before and that sometime overnight a bag was stolen from his car. The bag contained two handguns and several knives.

TRESPASSING: 8:37 p.m., 2500 block of Southwest Jefferson way, Corvallis. Officers assisted the Oregon State Police is removing a man, identified as Gary O'Connor, from the Memorial Union after patrons complained he had exposed his genitals while lying on a bench.

Benton County Sheriff’s Office

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 21

DUII: 2:27 a.m., Main Street and College Street, Philomath. Deputies responded to a request from the Albany Police Department to locate a car that had reportedly struck a residence in North Albany and fled the scene. Deputies located the car in Philomath and arrested the driver, Kyle Alan Swank, 27, of Philomath, for driving under the influence of intoxicants. Swank reportedly had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.16 percent.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 22

DUII: 5:49 a.m., Decker Road and Decker Ridge Road, Philomath. A deputy responded to a single vehicle car crash and arrested the driver, Kai Austin Miner, 18, of Philomath, for driving under the influence of intoxicants.

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 17

THEFT: 1:18 p.m., 800 block of Southwest 26th Street, Corvallis. An employee of LaSells Stewart Center reported two Dell laptops, totaling $2,900, had been stolen from the facility.

THEFT: 11:13 p.m., 700 block of Southwest 30th Street, Corvallis. Officers responded to the theft of several video game systems, totaling over $1,000, from the second floor player’s lounge at the Valley Football Center.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 20

DUII: 2:52 a.m., Northwest Ninth Street and Northwest Grant Avenue, Corvallis. An officer stopped a car that was reportedly unable to maintain its lane. The officer arrested the driver, William Erick Urquilla, 26, of Corvallis, for driving under the influence of intoxicants. Urquilla reportedly had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.09 percent.

THEFT: 10:53 a.m., 100 block of Southwest Sackett Place, Corvallis. A man reported two recording microphones, worth $750 each, were stolen from the Learning Innovation Center.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 21

DUII: 2:54 a.m., Northwest Harrison Boulevard and Northwest 27th Street, Corvallis. An officer stopped a car that was reportedly weaving within its lane, driving partially in the bicycle lane and that nearly struck a parked car. The officer arrested the driver, James Anton Regusci Jr., 25, of St. Helena, California, for driving under the influence of intoxicants and reckless driving. Regusci reportedly had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.16 percent.
