METH: 12:13 a.m., Highway 20 and Milepost 40, Blodgett. A deputy stopped a car for allegedly speeding. The deputy saw clear plastic baggies in the center console and asked to search the car. The deputy arrested the driver, Victor Larue Soper, 35, of Salem, for unlawful possession of methamphetamine and heroin.
SCAM: 12:02 p.m., 6200 block of Northwest Burgundy Drive, Corvallis. A woman reported her 15-year-old son had put $1,200 worth of camera equipment on Craigslist. A man named Hernandez Gago contacted them and offered to pay through PayPal if they would ship the camera equipment to New Jersey. They did so and found out the PayPal emails they were receiving were fake.
