TUESDAY, SEPT. 12
ASSAULT: 12:18 a.m., 2100 block of Northwest Janssen Street, Corvallis. A man reported to police he was leaving a parking lot when a man aggressively approached him, chased him around the parking lot and punched him in the face. Police arrested Owen Thomas Simonds, 28, of Philomath, for attempted fourth-degree assault.
THEFT: 1:45 p.m., 200 block of Southeast Chapman Place, Corvallis. Police responded to a report of a recovered stolen bicycle at a camp. Officers determined Richard Allen Sather, 27, of Corvallis, was in possession of several bicycles, four laptops, needles and other drug paraphernalia. Police cited Sather for second-degree theft by receiving. The stolen bicycle was returned to its owner.
METH: 7 p.m., Law Enforcement Center, Corvallis. Joseph Rufugio Gomez, 34, went to the Law Enforcement Center to pick up luggage belonging to him. The luggage had been turned in on Monday by a man who said he found it on a property he maintains. Inside the luggage was a pipe containing methamphetamine residue. Police cited Gomez for unlawful possession of meth.
