Warning that visibility in some mid-valley locations is a quarter-mile or less, the National Weather Service has issued a dense fog advisory through 11 a.m. Sunday.

In the advisory, forecasters noted that some denser patches of fog could reduce visibility to a few hundred feet.

Forecasters said that ground moisture and falling temperatures could lead to icy and slick roadways, compounding issues created by low visibility. It will be difficult to see other vehicles and pedestrians, they said, and urged drivers to use caution and slow down. Also, drivers should use their headlights and leave plenty of distance ahead of them, forecasters said.
