Red Bow 12-6-17

An air stagnation advisory issued by the National Weather Service office in Portland remains in effect throughout the mid-valley until 11 a.m. Monday.

Worried that an inversion in the mid-valley would trap warmer air underneath a layer of cooler air and trigger a decline in air quality, forecasters issued the air stagnation advisory this past Monday. Because of the limited air movement in the mid-valley, pollution could increase to dangerous levels.

Forecasters urged people with respiratory illnesses to follow their physicians' advice for how to deal with high levels of air pollution.
