OSU president Ed Ray suggested recently that he plans to grow OSU to mega-university size in the next 15 years.
Ray's bio lists only Ohio State University as a previous employer. We should note that Ray's hard work at Ohio State helped propel that land-grant school to a total student body of over 51,000.
Columbus, home of Ohio State, has devolved into a gigantic slum. Do we wonder why Ray bailed on Columbus and landed in the utopian community of Corvallis? And do we have the right to ask why Ray is so intent on imposing the "Columbus success model" on Corvallis?
Who is the lead cheerleader for the Ray slum-inducing growth plan? Why, none other than Curtis Wright, the ultimate Californian ... who succeeded in growing an incredibly successful marketing business in Silicon Valley, then bailed with his millions to retire in utopian Corvallis.
The Wright "success" matches the Ray "success" in rendering their homes uninhabitable by growth design. Where will Curtis Wright go after his efforts reduce Corvallis to Silicon Valley status?
Corvallis, beware! These men - and others of their ilk - prey on the small utopian communities filled with the ordinary Americans like us. Their definition of success is more money. My definition of success is handing my children and grandchildren a comfortable future in Corvallis.
Corvallis, beware the successful men! We defeated "success" in the form of the Evanite URD. We can defeat the Ray/Wright design for the destruction of Corvallis!
