In Chuck Wenstrom's Nov. 5 letter, he indicated that President Obama is still too busy running a popularity contest to be president. Nothing could be further from the truth.

I refer readers to the 2009 Pulitzer Prize-winning Web site, politifact.com. It tracks how President Obama is doing in fulfilling his campaign promises. He's actually doing very well.

Presumably, we elected President Obama based on his statements as to what he would do once he was in office.

President Obama has the courage to address the real problems in the United States (dependence on foreign oil, out-of control medical costs, and global warming) while still dealing with the economic mess he inherited from President Bush. My hat's off to him!
