On Monday night I attended the Benton County Fair Board meeting. The topic on the agenda was the conversion of the 50-year-old horse arena into a state-of-the-art concrete-floored event center.
The covered arena is a valuable and unique resource and is essential to the many 4-H programs that teach life lessons to our children. Converting the arena would most likely end all those programs. In addition, it would remove the only available arena for the county's horse folks.
We cannot afford to allow this to happen. It will negatively impact the livability of our area and put our kids out on the streets. Please help us defeat this plan and keep our arena available to our kids.
