We once memorialized significant accomplished individuals for their key roles in forming the foundation of our community. Renaming these memorials (buildings, streets, parks and so forth) is equivalent to removing keystones from our foundation. We are setting ourselves up for failure. We are allowing the destruction of the embodiment of ideas.

Have we become so extreme in our beliefs that we cannot tolerate anything that contradicts those beliefs? This is not healthy for our community as a whole. Is this the "example" that we want to set for the next generation? What is next? Burning books?
