As I come home from college this winter break I am incredibly grateful to be surrounded by family that is in good health. Their health has also allowed me to work towards a degree in political science at Oregon State University. Their health and my ability to leave the nest is directly tied to their ability to receive health care that is both affordable and accessible. No one should be thinking about whether they should go to the doctor, pay tuition, or buy presents for their kids this holiday season.
With Measure 101, more Oregonians will be able to afford quality health insurance that gets them the care they need. That’s the type of Oregon I want to live, study, and work in. Health care should be a right, not a privilege for selected people. I’m voting yes on Measure 101, and I hope you will, too!
