CORVALLIS — A Benton County Circuit Court jury Friday found a Philomath man guilty of 38 counts of sexually abusing a child.
The jury concluded that Raymond Merl Turner was guilty of 12 counts of first-degree rape, 12 counts of first-degree sodomy, 12 counts of first-degree sexual abuse and two counts of second-degree rape. Jurors began their deliberations Thursday morning.
Ryan Joslin, the chief deputy district attorney for Benton County, said a sentencing hearing for Turner has not yet been set.
The charges stem from abuse of a minor female born in 2003 and reportedly took place from 2009 to 2016. Turner has nine additional felony charges still pending in a case of alleged abuse of a female minor born in 2001. Those incidents allegedly took place between 2005 and 2007.
Turner was arrested in March and remains in the Benton County Jail.
