FRIDAY, AUG. 18

DUII: Philomath Police arrested Corey Smith, 34, no fixed address, on a charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants following a traffic stop at 7:05 p.m. on the 200 block of South 15th Street.

SATURDAY, AUG. 19

METH: A Benton County sheriff’s deputy arrested Jonathan Moffatt, 37, no city of residence provided, on charges of possession of methamphetamine and driving with a suspended license and no insurance. The arrest took place following a traffic stop at 1:27 a.m. on Highway 20 near Davis Road.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: A Benton County sheriff’s deputy cited Charles Felipe Leal, 31, no city of residence provided, on a charge of failing to return a suspended or revoked driver’s license. The citation took place following a traffic stop at 7:28 p.m. on Highway 20 near Brumfield Lane.

THEFT: Philomath Police took a report from a woman at 10:26 p.m. who believed her purse had been stolen from the Meet’n Place Tavern. Later in the evening, a bar employee found the purse, which police returned to the owner.

SUNDAY, AUG. 20

DUII: Philomath Police arrested Jose Ortiz, 58, of Corvallis, on a charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants following a traffic stop at 12:31 a.m. on the 4700 block of Bellfountain Road.

DUII: Philomath Police arrested Michael Alan Thompson, 62, of Vancouver, Washington, on a charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants. The arrest took place after a traffic stop at 2:15 a.m. on the 1400 block of Applegate Street.

LOUD MUSIC: Philomath Police followed up on a loud-noise complaint at 9:11 p.m. by talking to a group of juveniles at an address on the 200 block of South 13th Street. The kids said they had turned off their loud music about 30 minutes earlier when their parents got home.

MONDAY, AUG. 21

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Philomath Police responded at 7:30 p.m. to McDonald’s for a report of a man armed with a knife harassing customers. Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Kyle Davis, 27, of Spokane, Washington, on a charge of second-degree disorderly conduct.

WEDNESDAY, AUG. 23

TRESPASSING: A representative of the Philomath School District reported to Philomath Police that a man had been sleeping at the elementary school playground for the past two mornings.
