Police Log

FRIDAY, NOV. 24

MOTOR-VEHICLE CRASH: Benton County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash with no injuries near milepost 3 on Decker Road. The vehicle was traveling southeast on Decker Road when the driver swerved to miss a rabbit and slammed on the brakes, leaving skid marks that measured at about 30 feet. The vehicle then went off an embankment, rolled one time and landed on a fence. Philomath Fire & Rescue evaluated the driver on scene and released her.

SUNDAY, NOV. 26

WARRANT ARREST: Philomath Police arrested Damon Card, 35, of Sweet Home, on a Lincoln County Circuit Court warrant at 9:45 a.m. in the 5300 block of Philomath Boulevard in Corvallis. Card was transported to Benton County Jail.

WARRANT ARREST: Philomath Police arrested Maribel Guerrero, 24, of Eugene, on a Marion County Circuit Court warrant at 12:33 p.m. on the corner of Main Street and 12th Street. Guerrero was transported to Benton County Jail.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON: Philomath Police responded at 9:24 p.m. to the 1100 block of Main Street for a report of a male who was acting strangely when leaving a business. Police could not locate the man via foot patrols and it was determined no criminal activity had occurred.

MONDAY, NOV. 27

WELFARE CHECK: Philomath Police responded at 6:56 p.m. in the 200 block of South 17th Street for a welfare check. An adult male was found to be disoriented and confused. Philomath Fire & Rescue responded to evaluate and he was later transported to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center by Corvallis Medics.

DOG BITE: The Benton County Sheriff's Office reported that a dog on Newgate Drive was placed on bite quarantine. On Thanksgiving, the dog bit a young relative who was visiting the residence.

TUESDAY, NOV. 28

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Philomath Police arrested Patrick Oleman, 39, of Lebanon, on a misdemeanor charge of driving while suspended following a traffic stop at 5:46 a.m. in the vicinity of Highway 20 and Noon Road. Oleman was also issued a traffic citation for observed violations.

WEDNESDAY, NOV. 29

VEHICLE CRASH: Philomath Police responded at 7 p.m. to Seventh Street and Applegate Street for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival, police learned it was a crash and the driver was transported to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center for a high fever.

SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY: Benton County's Sheriff Office deputies spoke with a Philomath resident by phone who believed someone had gone onto her property on Joseph Lane and opened gates and barn doors.

FRIDAY, DEC. 1

SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY: Philomath Police took a report at 8:30 a.m. at Eighth Street and Applegate Street of a citizen who reported that an unknown male in a light blue Toyota Prius displayed a badge and told him to pull over. The motorist refused to comply and the Prius turned off and quit following him.
