Information comes from the Philomath Police Department and the Benton County Sheriff’s Office. It does not include all calls for service. FRAUD: Philomath Police took a report via phone at 7:45 p.m. of a woman who had lost $5,500 through fraudulent activity.

DUII: The Benton County Sheriff's Office responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 20 near Norton Creek Road in the Blodgett vicinity. The vehicle was on its roof in the ditch. Marina Hill, 34, of Newport, was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants (alcohol) and reckless driving.

WARRANT: The Benton County Sheriff's Office arrested William Barker, 31, of Albany, on a confirmed warrant out of Philomath Municipal Court for failure to comply.


FOUND: Philomath Police found bicycles at 10:52 a.m. at the corner of North 17th Street and College Street and at 3:12 p.m. in the 1300 block of College Street.

THEFT: Philomath Police responded at 12:14 p.m. to NAPA Auto Parts on Main Street for a report of attempted theft. A man tried to charge merchandise to another company's account. Brian Keith Kimble Jr., 35, of Manteca, California, was arrested on a charge of attempted theft by deception.

CRASH: The Benton County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a single-vehicle noninjury crash on 53rd Street near Bellfountain Road. The driver stated he lost control while swerving to miss a deer in the roadway.

DOG: The Benton County Sheriff's Office transported a dog to Heartland Humane Society after taking it into custody on Northwest Ninth Street.


THEFT: Philomath Police responded at 6:38 p.m. to the 2800 block of Newton Street for a report of a bicycle theft that had occurred sometime between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. The bicycle is valued at $4,500.


911 HANG-UPS: Philomath Police responded at 3:14 a.m. to the 600 block of College Street following multiple 911 hang-up calls that were GPS-coordinated to the area. Police performed a foot patrol, including on railroad tracks, and contacted residents at a nearby house but no one needed assistance.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: Philomath Police responded at 8:10 a.m. to the 2100 block of Applegate Street of an enclosed trailer that had been spray-painted during the night.

THEFT: Philomath Police took a report at noon from a residence in the 800 block of North 12th Street of money withdraw from a bank account after the victim had been in contact with an alleged computer tech company by phone.

FOUND: Philomath Police took in a gas-powered leaf blower that had been brought in by a citizen after found in the 2500 block of Main Street.

CRASH: Philomath Police responded at 5 p.m. to Main Street and Newton Street of a noninjury crash that occurred in the intersection.

ASSISTANCE: Philomath Police was flagged down at 10:55 p.m. in the 1500 block of Applegate Street by a man experiencing trouble breathing with pain in his back and chest. Corvallis and Philomath medics responded to the scene and he was transported to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.


WARRANT: The Benton County Sheriff's Office responded to Kings Valley Highway near milepost 23 for a report of a one-vehicle crash. Deputies reported that the driver was headed north when she misjudged a corner, lost control and slid into a ditch. Eli Kaczka, 36, of Dallas, arrived at the scene just before deputies to assess the damage. Kaczka was arrested on a warrant out of Polk County Circuit Court on a first-degree theft charge. He was transported to Polk County Jail.
