FRIDAY, JAN. 12

COUNTERFEITING: Philomath Police responded at 4:04 p.m. to Oregon State Credit Union for a report of counterfeit bills. Police contacted a victim who attempted to deposit the bills, which were seized as evidence.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Philomath Police arrested Zachary Macmillan, 21, of Cantonville, for failure to return a suspended license and also cited him for driving while suspended following a traffic stop at 10:19 p.m. near the intersection of 15th and Main streets.

SATURDAY, JAN. 13

DISTURBANCE: Philomath Police responded at 10:44 a.m. to the 200 block of South 13th Street for a verbal domestic disturbance.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: Philomath Police responded at 2:35 p.m. to the 200 block of North 14th Street for a report of an attempted burglary at an unoccupied residence.

UNLAWFUL CUTTING: The Benton County Sheriff's Office cited and released on site Rolando Carrillo Felix, 22, Walfre Domingo Godinez, 23, Valerio Domingo Godinez, 19, and Roberto Godinez Jacinto, 43, all of Woodburn, on a charge of unlawful cut and transport of minor forest products for allegedly picking Salal on U.S. Forest Service property on Marys Peak Road.

SUNDAY, JAN. 14

ASSISTANCE: Philomath Police responded at 5:10 a.m. to the 500 block of Canberra Drive to assist Philomath Fire & Rescue with a patient evaluation.

WELFARE CHECK: Philomath Police responded at 9:02 p.m. to the 500 block of South 17th Street for a welfare check on an overdue motorist. Unable to find anyone at the home, police began to check businesses but were informed that the person had been found and was safe.

RECKLESS DRIVER: The Benton County Sheriff's Office responded to a call about a reckless driver on Highway 20 near the Blodgett Country Store. Deputies contacted the suspect at his residence and he explained a traffic situation that forced him to take evasive action while making a pass of another vehicle.

MONDAY, JAN. 15

CRIMINAL TRESPASS: Philomath Police arrested Perry White, 53, of Philomath, for second-degree criminal trespass after he was contacted at 2:43 a.m. in Marys River Park off the Ninth Street gravel parking area.

FUGITIVE: Philomath Police responded at 2:09 p.m. to the Mobil gas station for a possible harassment in progress. An investigation led police to the recovery of a stolen Ford Ranger related to a crime that occurred in Sacramento, California. Benjamin Ryan Adam, 28, of Stockton, California, was arrested on charges of parole violation, contempt of court, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, fourth-degree domestic violence assault, fugitive from another state, possession of a controlled substance (heroin), interfering with a peace officer, resisting arrest and possession of a stolen vehicle.

TUESDAY, JAN. 16

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: The Benton County Sheriff's Office responded to a residence on Cooper Lane for a report that someone had damaged a mailbox sometime during the previous 24 hours. Deputies said it appeared a passenger side mirror had clipped the mailbox. Damages were estimated at around $30.

THURSDAY, JAN. 18

DOG AT LARGE: The Benton County Sheriff's Office transported two stray dogs from Blodgett Road to the Heartland Human Society. The dogs were described as two senior, neutered male English bulldog/Labrador mixes not wearing collars or microchipped. The owners saw a posting for the dogs on social media and retrieved them from the shelter.
