TUESDAY, OCT. 3

DUII (METH): A Benton County sheriff deputy pulled over 33-year-old James Anthony Pruitt at 11:36 p.m. near the intersection of Applegate and 23rd streets under suspicion of using a cellphone while driving. The deputy then arrested Pruitt, no city of residence listed, on charges of possession of methamphetamine and driving under the influence of drugs.

SUNDAY, OCT. 8

RESTRAINING ORDER: Philomath Police arrested Sarah Brittain, 34, for allegedly violating a restraining order issued out of Washington state. Brittain, who has no fixed address, was arrested at noon on the 600 block of Applegate Street.

VANDALISM: A mailbox was damaged on the 200 block of North Seventh Street sometime between 6:30 p.m. and midnight on Oct. 7.

MONDAY, OCT. 9

ILLEGAL DUMPING: Someone dumped a mattress, box spring and door at Marys River Park.

FIRE INVESTIGATION: Philomath Police responded at 1:23 a.m. to a report of a fire on the 200 block of North 14th Street. Police determined the fire was contained to a fire pit, and advised the resident of the current burn ban.

AGENCY ASSIST: Philomath Police assisted Oregon State Police by locating and detaining a hit-and-run suspect from a crash on Highway 34 and Peoria Road. Police located the suspect, who was not named the media report, on the 1400 block of Main Street at 5:50 p.m.

THURSDAY, OCT. 12

WARRANT: Philomath Police pulled over Christopher Chavira, 47, of Vancouver, Washington, as he was driving a tow truck on the 700 block of Applegate Street at 12:55 a.m. Chavira was cited in lieu of arrest for a warrant issued out of Washington County.
