Eldon Wayne Stanton, age 74, of Penn Township, Pennsylvania, died Friday March 30, 2018 in his home.
He was born in Corvallis on July 29, 1943, to the late Kenneth Dubois and Mary Louise Gregg Stanton and has been a resident of Penn Township since 2009, having previously residing in East Deer, Pennsylvania and Seattle, Washington.
Wayne graduated from Philomath High School in 1961 and was a Vietnam War Veteran, serving in the Marine Corps.
He worked as an iron worker for Local Iron Workers Union 86, Seattle, and was a member of Bull Creek Rod and Gun Club. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Seattle Mariners and Seahawks. He also enjoyed shooting, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Virginia “Gia” Louise Coury Boggs; four children, Kenneth Stanton of Des Moines, Washington, Tracy Stanton of Philomath, Sandra (Dirk) Stevens of Redmond, Oregon, Tanya (Arun Kehwar) Boggs of Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Justin, Trenton, Jesse, Sierra, Mikayla, Brenna, Hailey, and Amira; brother, Kenneth (Margie) Stanton of Madras, Oregon, and sister Jayne (David) Theurer of Blodgett.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Hilda Stanton.
