Jim Scarth died peacefully at home from bone marrow cancer.
He was born in Silverton to James A Scarth, Sr. and Flora Bushnell Scarth.
Jim graduated from Philomath High School and from the University of Oregon with a degree in Business in 1958.
He married his best friend, Donna Davis in 1955. The two were married for 62 years.
Jim worked as a CPA and then became the Director of Administration for the law firm of Stoel, Rives where he worked until retiring in 1993 to devote full time effort to Christian ministry.
Jim was very involved with the community. For the past 11 years, Jim served as the ministry leader for “Celebrate Recovery,” a Christian based recovery program. Jim had a passion for the Lord and never tired of sharing that love with those he met.
His mother and father; brother Bill; and sister Margaret preceded Jim in death.
He is survived by his wife Donna; sons Doug and his wife Penny, David and his wife Janet; his sister Flo Adele; and his grandchildren, Caleb, Spencer, Karissa, Morgan, Joshua and Hannah and granddaughter-in-law Kristen.
The service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 30 at New Hope Community Church, 11731 SE Stevens Road, Happy Valley.
