The Philomath Planning Commission plans to hold a public hearing at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26 at City Hall to hear comments on an annexation application submitted from Millersburg Land and Development.
The annexation would be 9.09 acres and be zoned as low-density residential. The property is located north of Chapel Drive in the Philomath Middle School vicinity. The applicant's proposal calls for future development in conjunction with a strip of land immediately to its west. Based on a preliminary analysis, the property could accommodate the construction of approximately 45 new single-family houses.
If findings of fact are met, then a March 12 hearing would occur before the city council. The council would then make a final decision on whether or not the application meets applicable criteria and if so, would consider an ordinance annexing the property into the city.
