The Corvallis Police Department is requesting the public's help in locating Christopher J. Becker, 28, of Philomath, who is a suspect in a bank robbery that occurred Monday.
At about 2:54 p.m. Monday, Corvallis Police responded to the Central Willamette Credit Union at 555 NE Circle Blvd., for a report of a robbery that had just occurred. A man entered the credit union and presented a note to the teller demanding money, police said.
No weapon was displayed during the robbery and no employees were injured, police said. The suspect received an undisclosed amount of cash.
Investigators later identified the suspect as Becker, who reportedly arrived at and left the credit union in a taxicab. Shortly after leaving the area of the credit union, he exited the taxicab on foot, police said.
Becker was previously arrested by Corvallis Police for a robbery at the Bank of America ATM in downtown Corvallis on Dec. 27, where he wrestled a victim's cash away from them as the machine dispensed it.
Police caution that if they see Becker, do not approach him, but call 9-1-1 to report his whereabouts. Anyone with further information related to the robbery can contact Det. Pete Dunn at 541-766-6433.
