The Philomath High School tennis teams competed in tournaments Saturday with the girls at Junction City and the boys at Oregon Episcopal School in Portland.

The girls went 9-7 in matches to win the three-school Junction City tournament. Zoe Boynton had two wins in singles and in the doubles competition, Ari Manning and Chloe Jurva, and Atira Fairbanks and Ashlyn Wulk, had two wins.

Kena Bacho and Emma Nelson split their doubles matches. Amelia Skinkis had a split in singles.

The girls will get back into league play Monday at Stayton, weather permitting.

Philomath's boys competed in a three-school tournament at Oregon Episcopal and finished third behind the host school and Class 6A Newberg.

The No. 4 doubles team of Reagan Schaeffer and Travis Crousser-Etzel won their division. The Warriors split matches at No. 4 singles with Nathaniel Workman and at No. 3 doubles with Pablo Gurturbay and James Erickson.

The PHS boys are scheduled to host Stayton at 4 p.m. Monday at Ashbrook Independent School in Corvallis.
