The Philomath High School girls tennis team improved to 4-2 on the season Wednesday with a 7-0 road victory over Estacada.

The Warriors won six of the seven matches that were completed in straight sets. The final results do not include No. 2 singles, which was not completed because of rain. But even in that match, Philomath's Maddie Melton was leading, 5-2, when the contest was stopped.

Selah Carlisle (6-4, 6-1), Madison Francis (6-0, 6-0) and Chloe Jurva (6-1, 6-1) all won singles matches. Doubles winners included Lindsay Schell and Ella Skinkis (6-1, 6-0), Amelia Skinkis and Claire Skinkis (3-6, 6-1, 10-5), Ari Manning and Emma Nelson (6-3, 6-4), and Atira Fairbanks and Ashlynn Wulk (6-2, 6-0).

The girls are scheduled to play Saturday in a three-school tournament at Junction City.

Estacada's boys were scheduled to play Philomath at Ashbrook Independent School in Corvallis but it was canceled because of rain. The boys will head to Oregon Episcopal School in Portland Saturday for a tournament.
