The Philomath High School girls soccer team ended the regular season Tuesday with a 3-0 road victory over Yamhill-Carlton.

Junior Quincey Pittman scored the team's first goal with an assist to senior Carrie Lillis. The second goal came on a Lillis shot with an assist going to freshman Alivia Pittman. The Warriors led 2-0 at halftime.

In the second half, junior Reya Fairbanks scored with senior Lily Bogard getting the assist.

PHS coach Mat Phelps said the team played a complete game and controlled play despite a slippery field.

"Mallory Stokes and Mia Rust were very strong and organized in the back," Phelps said. "Kena Bacho was not tested too much in goal but had a big save early. Carrie and Quincey put pressure on all game."

The Warriors clinched the runner-up spot and will host a play-in game at 1:30 p.m. Saturday against Astoria. Astoria finished third in the Cowapa League and has an overall record of 6-6-2.
