Oregon State starting running back Malcolm Agnew will not play in Saturday’s football game due to his hamstring injury, coach Mike Riley said after Thursday’s practice.

Agnew won’t travel to Wisconsin so the medical staff can work on his leg over the weekend in hopes of helping him return sooner.

He was injured Tuesday in the middle of practice and hasn’t been able to run since.

“We are not even going to take him because he’ll be better off getting treatment for two more days,” Riley said.

Freshman Terron Ward takes Agnew’s place as the starter. Agnew and Ward are true freshmen. Ward did not get a carry last Saturday.
