Oregon State place-kicker Justin Kahut was named the special teams player of the week by the Pacific-10 Conference on Monday.

Oregon running back LaMichael James and California linebacker Mike Mohamed were the offensive and defensive players of the week.

Kahut accounted for 14 of OSU's 26 points in a 26-19 win against UCLA. He was 4-for-5 on field goal attempts, connecting from 48, 42, 27 and 31 yards and made both extra points.

Kahut was one of three kickers named a Lou Groza Kicking Award Star of the Week by the Palm Beach County Sports Commission. The group hands out the Groza Award, which goes to the nation's top kicker each year.

James rushed 24 times for an Oregon freshman record 183 yards and a touchdown against Southern California.

The Ducks put up 47 points and 613 yards total offense, including 391 yards rushing. They piled up 31 first downs, punted once and were 9-for-9 in the red zone.

Mohamed led Cal's defense in a road win at Arizona State. He had a game-high 12 tackles, 11 solo. Cal limited Arizona State to 15 first downs, 82 yards rushing, 329 yards total offense and forced three turnovers.
