TODAY: at Pac-10 Championships, noon-4 p.m., 6-9 p.m.

SATURDAY: at Pac-10 Championships, noon-2 p.m., 4 p.m.

UPDATE: The Beavers are contenders for the team title and have at least four individual contenders. "The last couple years we didn't have the team to compete," coach Jim Zalesky said. "This year, we know we do." ... Boise State will be the favorite. The Broncos beat the Beavers twice in the dual meet season. However, the tournament setting changes things. "It puts Oregon State at an advantage," 157-pounder Keegan Davis. "We'll wrestle for hours. Holding up in that situation, that's what we are made for. In a dual someone might hang in there for one match. In a tournament, those guys won't be able to do that in the third match." ... The Beavers are going to need an upset or two to claim the title. Colby Covington (174), Jason Lara (125), Kelly Kubec (133) and heavyweight Clayton Jack should finish well, and be contenders for titles. ... "We wrestled really well in practice this last week," Davis said. "That's a sign we are ready for this competition." ... The Beavers have won 16 conference titles with the last one being in 2007. The last individual champions were Kyle Bressler (197 pounds) and Travis Gardner (heavyweight) in 2008. ... The lineup has been set in recent weeks. The only spot that has been unsettled for an extended time was at 184, but Ty Vinson represents the Beavers there. ... Even with ongoing legal problems for missing his diversion program, Mike Mangrum is still schedudle to compete at 141 pounds.
