Oregon State cornerback Tyler Hasty has been dismissed from the football team and his scholarship revoked following an arrest early this week, the Oregonian reported on Wednesday.

Hasty, a 19-year-old sophomore from Newcastle, Wash., was arrested for allegedly attempting to elude Linn County sheriff’s officers early Monday morning.

Linn County sheriff’s office records show that a deputy attempted to pull over a BMW that was clocked at 81 mph in a 55-mph zone at 5:41 a.m. on Highway 34 east of Corvallis.

The driver allegedly attempted to elude the deputy before trying to pull into a business parking lot where he lost control and crashed.

The driver then allegedly fled on foot but was taken into custody at gunpoint.

Hasty, the son of former NFL player James Hasty, faces charges of felony attempt to elude by vehicle and on foot.
