WAIKOLOA, Hawai'i – Shawn Lu fired a 2-under 70 to lead the Oregon State men's golf team in the second round of the 27th Annual Amer Ari Invitational on Friday.
Lu, a native of Honolulu, carded three birdies and only one bogey and moved 22 spots up the leaderboard into a tie for 63rd place with a 2-over 76-70—146. It's the ninth career sub-par round of his career and the sixth in his sophomore campaign.
As a team, the Beavers improved by 15 strokes over their first-round score, shooting a 1-under 287 at the par-72, 7,074-yard Waikoloa Kings' Course. They sit in 15th place in the 18-team field with a 13-over 302-287—589.
