HAMILTON, N.Y. — The Oregon State men’s soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision at Colgate on Friday.
“It’s frustrating for the guys,” coach Steve Simmons said, “because they created some good chances, including a goal that was called back. In the end, we have to close out games. I know it and the guys know it. We’ll have our chance to respond on Tuesday.”
The Beavers (2-3) held the advantage in shots at 12-11, but the Raiders (3-2) opened up the floodgates in the second half with nine attempts coming in the frame, including five on goal.
Colgate got the goal from Uyiosa Omorogbe in the 88th minute on a feed from Aram Ouligian for the difference in the contest. Peter Tappenden was credited with the win after making six saves in the box.
OSU will face Syracuse on Tuesday.
