The Oregon State women’s soccer team hung tough with the No. 3 UCLA on Sunday, but was unable to pull off the upset, dropping a 4-1 Pac-12 decision at Lorenz Field.
OSU scored its lone goal as the first half was drawing to a close, making it 2-1after 45-minutes of play.
Two Bruins goals in a three-minute stretch of the second half put the game away.
The Beavers (9-4-1, 1-3-1) fell behind in the third minute, then went down 2-0 three minutes later.
OSU got it to 2-1 with 20 seconds remaining in the half when senior midfielder Megan Miller took a pass from junior forward Jenna Richardson and beat the keeper.
But UCLA scored in the 57th and 60th minutes to put it away.
The Beavers are at Colorado on Saturday.
