The Oregon State swimming team will compete in its final home meet of the season on Saturday, taking on Willamette and Southwest Oregon Community College at noon at Stevens Natatorium at the Dixon Recreation Center.
Before the meet begins, Oregon State will honor seniors Amani Amr, Sammy Harrison, Claire McLaggan, Kaitlyn Stroda and Constance Toulemonde.
Amr will close out her career as one of the top swimmers in the backstroke in OSU history. She has three of OSU’s all-time top-10 times in each backstroke event (six total). Amr owns the No. 5 time in the 100-yard backstroke (55.53) and the No. 4 time in the 200 (2:00.09).
Harrison will be finishing out her home schedule as one of the most decorated swimmers in school history. In 2014, Harrison set the program record for most dual wins across all events in a single season (32), breaking the mark Naya Higashijima set in 2003. Among other records she holds, Harrison has the program’s fastest times in the 500-yard freestyle (4:39.10), the 1,000 (9:35.36) and the 1,650 (15:54.61), records that had all previously stood at OSU for at least a decade.
McLaggan has the ninth-fastest 50-yard freestyle time in school history (23.45), while Toulemonde owns the program’s eighth-best 100-yard butterfly time (55.22).
