PORTLAND — The Oregon State volleyball team remained unbeaten by defeating Alabama State 3-0 on Friday in its first match at the North Harbour Marriott Invitational at the University of Portland. Set scores were 25-13, 25-19, 25-14.

Senior Mary-Kate Marshall led the Beavers (4-0) with 15 kills, bumping her season total to 64 in four matches. Redshirt freshman Haylie Bennett, a Philomath High graduate, reached double-figures for the first time in her career by adding 10 kills.

Redshirt junior Kory Cheshire had eight kills and three aces and freshman setter Kylee McLaughlin had 38 assists and a team-leading six digs.

The Beavers conclude the tournament on Saturday when they face Fresno State at noon and the host Pilots at 6 p.m.
