Oregon State’s Becky Defoe was invited to her second USA A2 team volleyball tryout, which will be held in Colorado Springs, Colo., today through Friday.

Forty-eight collegiate players will make the A2 squad, which is comprised of the best American players with eligibility remaining. Defoe, a senior this coming season, made last year’s A2 team.

This program takes place from June 25 to July 4 in Dallas. It will include training and competing at the USA Volleyball Girls’ Junior National Championships on July 1-4. Participants may be invited to compete with the U.S. women’s national team.

In five matches with the A2 squad last summer, Defoe was credited with 85 receptions in five matches. She helped her team to a bronze medal after finishing 3-2 overall.

Defoe returned to OSU and had the best season by a libero/defensive specialist in school history. The Bend native broke her own school record with 591 digs, surpassing her previous best of 555.
