Oregon State volleyball players garnered the fifth and sixth Pac-12 awards of the season Monday following the Beavers’ sweep of the Arizona schools last week.
Senior outside hitter Mary-Kate Marshall earned her third Pac-12 offensive player of the week award while setter Kylee McLaughlin was honored with freshman of the week accolades for the first time.
Marshall had 33 kills during the week while leading a highly effective offensive barrage. Marshall had a match-high 11 kills and two aces in the Beavers’ three-set sweep of Arizona on Wednesday. On Friday, she had 22 kills, 11 digs and three aces in defeating Arizona State in four sets.
McLaughlin had 32 assists and a career-high three aces and helped the offense to a .295 hitting percentage against Arizona. She helped the Beavers extend their win streak on Friday, tying her career-high with 57 assists in the win over ASU.
The award is the eighth Pac-12 weekly honor of Marshall’s career and third of the season as the offensive player of the week, becoming the first OSU player to be so honored.
The Beavers open the second half of Pac-12 play this week when they host Utah on Friday and Colorado on Saturday. Both matches are slated for 6 p.m. starts.
