NEW BRUNSWICK, N. J. — The Oregon State wrestling team fell 38-3 to No. 11 Rutgers on Friday night in the opening dual of a two-match road trip to the East Coast.
Junior heavyweight Cody Crawford was OSU’s (2-5) only winner, as he defeated Razohnn Gross 4-2 in the final match of the night to avoid a shutout.
OSU concludes its road trip on Saturday with a 4 p.m. match at Drexel in Philadelphia. The Dragons have three ranked wrestlers: Senior Kevin Devoy (133, # 11); senior Matt Cimato (149, # 17) and junior Joey Goodhart (hwt., # 20). It is the first meeting in history between the teams.
The Beavers start Pac-12 action against Stanford on Jan. 30 with a 7 p.m. dual at Gill Coliseum that will be televised by the Pac-12 Network. They are five-time defending Pac-12 champions.
