EUGENE - Three freshmen basketball players at the University of Oregon are accused of firing BB guns at ducks and geese in a Eugene park.

The Register-Guard newspaper reports Cedric Josh Crittle, Michael R. Dunigan and Teondre Javon Williams were cited for violating park rules by discharging guns. They are all 19.

Police spokeswoman Jenna LaBounty says officers saw Crittle shoot about 20 BBs at ducks and geese at Alton Baker Park after 11 p.m. Monday. She says they found two other guns they believe belonged to Dunigan and Williams.

She says it's uncertain if any waterfowl were hit.
