LBCC men's basketball

CLACKAMAS — The Linn-Benton men's basketball team fought and clawed its way back into Wednesday night's matchup with Clackamas, but the comeback bid fell just short as the Roadrunners lost to Clackamas 76-65.

After allowing 54 points in the first stanza, the Roadrunners ratcheted up the defense end in the second period, allowing just 22 points and giving themselves a chance to get back in the game. Unfortunately for LBCC, it was too little, too late.

LBCC was led by the strong play of Cooper Getsfrid (13 points, four rebounds, two blocks), Taylor Jensen (12 points, nine rebounds, four steals), and Adam Harvey (11 points, three rebounds).

The Roadrunners (12-6, 2-3) host Lane on Wednesday.

Clackamas 85, Linn-Benton 59

CLACKAMAS — Linn-Benton couldn't keep pace with Clackamas as the Cougars ran away with the contest early.

The game was decided by the half as the Cougars scored 52 points in the first two quarters as opposed to 23 points by the Roadrunners.

Offensively, Linn-Benton was led by Madeline Oakden, who tallied 21 points, four steals, four rebounds and four assists. However, Linn-Benton couldn't get production from the rest of the team as Oakden was the only Roadrunner in double figures.

The Roadrunners (7-10, 2-3) host Lane on Wednesday.
