Volleyball

Haylie Bennett (Philomath) had nine kills, seven block assists, four digs and one assist Friday in Oregon State’s five-set loss to North Carolina State in an NCAA tournament first-round match in Austin, Texas.

Teammate Maddy Gravley (Santiam Christian) had three kills, four block assists and a dig.

Madison Milligan (Santiam Christian) had 36 assists and 16 digs Friday in Corban’s five-set win against Grand View in an NAIA national tournament quarterfinal in Sioux City, Iowa.

Later in the day, Milligan had 17 assists, six digs and an ace in a three-set quarterfinal loss to Lindsey Wilson.

Men’s basketball

Southern Oregon’s Ben DeSaulnier (Philomath) was named the Cascade Collegiate Conference player of the week for the second time this season.

The senior guard had 19 points (including three 3-pointers), four rebounds and two assists Sunday in Southern Oregon’s 100-93 home win against College of Idaho in Ashland.

Saturday, he had 22 points, eight rebounds, four assists, two blocks and two steals in an 84-71 home win against Eastern Oregon.

Trey Ecker (Philomath) had 11 points, three rebounds and an assist Nov. 29 in Linn-Benton's 101-82 win at Pacific JV in Forest Grove.

Teammate Riley Davis (Philomath) had 10 points, six rebounds, two steals and one assist.

Women’s basketball

Leslie Robinson (Corvallis) had 14 points, 10 rebounds, two assists and a block Saturday in Princeton’s 78-60 home win against Delaware in Princeton, New Jersey.

She had 10 points, seven rebounds, five assists and a steal Nov. 29 in a 62-59 home loss to Villanova.

Jessica Sexson (Crescent Valley) had three rebounds and one assist Sunday in Eastern Oregon’s 78-55 win at Oregon Tech in Klamath Falls.

Men’s swimming

Linfield’s Trevor Gourley (Corvallis) was seventh in the 50-yard freestyle final in 21.14 seconds in last weekend’s Husky Invitational in Seattle.

He was eighth in preliminaries (21.03).

Gourley was 13th in the 100 freestyle final (46.99) and 21st in the preliminaries (47.24). He also helped his team to sixth in the 200 medley relay (1:34.32).
